Visit to Japan by Ms. Susana Malcorra, Deputy Executive Director, United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)

- Ms. Susana Malcorra, Deputy Executive Director, United Nations World Food Programme, will visit Japan for the first time from November 20 (Sun) to 26 (Sat) at the invitation of the Government of Japan.
- During her stay in Japan, Ms. Malcorra will meet the government officials and members of WFP Parliamentary League to exchange wide-ranging views on such matters as food aid policies halving the proportion of people who suffered from hunger by the year 2015 based on the Millennium Development Goals. Ms. Malcorra will attend a WFP seminar hosted by the Japan Association for the United Nations World Food Programme, a private organization supporting WFP, and a WFP career seminar and others in Tokyo. She will attend a lecture meeting at Ryukoku University in Kyoto as well.
- Ms. Malcorra's visit to Japan is expected to further enhance the cooperative relationship between Japan and WFP to promote human security.
