First Meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for Strengthening Economic Relations between Japan and Switzerland

  1. The first meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for strengthening economic relations between Japan and Switzerland will be held in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) on 31st October and 1st November 2005.
  2. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the ministries concerned from Japan and Switzerland.
  3. At the meeting, there will be discussions on the scope of the Joint Governmental Study, analysis of the current bilateral trends of trade and investment between the two countries, as well as the presentation of and discussion on the results of the respective studies conducted by JETRO and SECO.
  4. The launch of the Joint Governmental Study was agreed upon at the Summit Meeting between the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, and the President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Samuel Schmid, in April 2005.
