Visit to Japan by Mr. Antonio Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

- Mr. Antonio Guterres, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will visit Japan from October 24 (Mon) to 26 (Wed).
- During his stay, Mr. Guterres will exchange wide-ranging views on refugee problems of the world (UNHCR identifies about 19.2 million people as in need of protection and assistance) with key officials of the Government of Japan, Parliamentarians' associations, NGOs and others.
The High Commissioner will also give a press conference at the Japan National Press Club on 26 (Wed).
- It is expected that Mr. Guterres' visit will further enhance the cooperative relations between Japan and the UNHCR.
