Visit to Japan by Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, IAEA Director General

- Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will visit Japan from October 6 (Wed) to 9 (Sat).
- During his stay in Japan, Dr. ElBaradei will talk with leaders and ministers of the government, give a lecture hosted by the United Nations University, hold a press conference at the Japan National Press Club, etc.
- Dr. ElBaradei will visit Japan this time to strengthen IAEA's relations with Japan, a major member state of the Agency, and to deepen the understanding of IAEA's activities by the Japanese population.
- This visit will be Dr. ElBaradei's fourth visit to Japan as the IAEA Director General. The last visit was to attend the International Conference on Wider Adherence to Strengthened IAEA Safeguards, which Japan hosted in December 2002.
