Visit to Japan by Ministers of the Palestinian Authority including Dr. Nabeel Shaath, Minister of Foreign Affairs

- From February 11 (Wed) to 14 (Sat), Dr. Nabeel Shaath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Salam Fayad, Minister of Finance, Dr. Jawad Tibi, Minister of Health, and others will visit Japan upon invitation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
- During their stay in Japan, Dr. Nabeel Shaath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and others will have talks with Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in the Third Japan-Palestinian Ministerial Political Consultation Meeting on February 12 (Thu). In the meeting, which Dr. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy for Peace in the Middle East, will also attend, they will discuss such issues as the Palestinian Track of the Middle East peace process, efforts for promoting the peace process and Japan's assistance to the Palestinians. In addition to this ministerial consultation, a Japan-Palestinian Joint Committee Meeting will also be held for working-level discussions.
- The Ministerial Political Consultation Meeting was held twice in the past: May 2000 and December 2002.
