Visit to Japan of Her Excellency Dr. Megawati Soekarnoputri, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Taufik Kiemas (Announcement by the Press Secretary/ Director- General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

    Her Excellency Dr. Megawati Soekarnoputri, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Taufik Kiemas, accompanied by a suite, will pay a State Visit to Japan from June 22 to 25, 2003.
    During their stay in Japan, the President and Mr. Taufik will make a State Call on Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
    Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will host a State Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Taufik.
    The President will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
    The Prime Minister of Japan will host a Dinner in honor of the President and Mr. Taufik.
    The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mr. Taufik, which will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and the Republic of the Indonesia.

* The date of the meeting with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and that of the dinner hosted by the Prime Minister are yet to be decided.
