Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit the U.S.

- Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the United States from September 12 (Thu) to 19 (Thu).
- Besides attending the General Debate of the 57th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Ms. Kawaguchi will take the opportunity to exchange views with Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General, and with Mr. Jan Kavan, President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, have bilateral ministerial talks including a meeting with Mr. Colin Powell, U.S. Secretary of State, and take part in multilateral meetings including G8 Foreign Ministers' meeting.
- In Washington, D.C., Ms. Kawaguchi will give a lecture and have talks with high-ranking officials of the U.S. Government.
