Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Attend WTO Informal Ministerial Meeting

Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Sydney, Australia, from November 13 (Wed) to 16 (Sat) to attend an informal ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
During her stay in Sydney, Ms. Kawaguchi will attend the informal meeting to have discussions with the ministers from 25 countries/regions and Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, WTO Director-General, on the progress of new round negotiations launched at the Fourth WTO Ministerial Conference held in 2001 in Doha, Qatar, and on measures to ensure the success of the Fifth Ministerial Conference to be held from September 10 to 14, 2003, in Cancun, Mexico.
Ms. Kawaguchi will also have meetings with Dr. Supachai and ministers from other countries on how to proceed with future negotiations.
