Visit to Japan by H.R.H. Crown Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev of the Kingdom of Nepal

- H.R.H.Crown Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev of the Kingdom of Nepal will visit Japan from April 25 (Wed) to May 2 (Wed) at the invitation of the Government of Japan.
- During his stay in Japan, H.R.H. Crown Prince Dipendra will be invited to court luncheon given by Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan. He will also visit facilities related to information and communication technology (IT) and disaster prevention.
- The Imperial Family of Japan and the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Nepal have long enjoyed close interchanges. From Japan, T.I.H. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess (currently Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress) visited Nepal in 1960 and 1975, H.I.H. Prince Naruhito (Prince Hiro) (currently H.I.H. The Crown Prince) in 1987, and T.I.H. Prince and Princess Akishino in February 1997. From the Kingdom of Nepal, His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev (then Crown Prince) studied in Japan in 1967, and visited Japan in 1978 as State Guest, and also in 1983 and 1985.
- It is expected that the forthcoming visit will further promote friendly relations between Japan and Nepal.
