Visit to Japan by a Delegation headed by Mr. Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, Chief Minister and Minister of Economy and Development, East Timor Public Administration

- Mr. Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, Chief Minister and Minister of Economy and Development, East Timor Public Administration, together with Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta, Senior Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Mrs. Fernanda Mesquita Borges, Minister for Finance, will visit Japan from December 2 (Sun) to 4 (Tue).
- During their stay in Japan, Chief Minister Alkatiri and the others will meet with leaders of the Government of Japan to discuss such matters as the future modality of Japan's relations with East Timor, which will become independent in due course, and East Timor's national reconciliation.
- Japan invited the delegation in response to their stated wish to visit Japan on their way to the 5th Donors' Meeting to be held from December 11 in Oslo.
Chief Minister Alkatiri and the others will be the first Ministers of the East Timor Public Administration to visit Japan since its establishment on September 20.
