Japan-EU Regulatory Reform Dialogue in Tokyo

A meeting between Japan and the European Union on regulatory reform will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday 23rd October 2001. The meeting will be co-chaired by Mr. Shinichi KITAJIMA, Director-General of the Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who leads the Japanese delegation consisted of officials from relevant ministries, and by Mr. Fernando VALENZUELA, Deputy Director-General of the External Relations Directorate General, European Commission, who leads the EU delegation made of representatives from relevant directorates of the European Commission. This meeting will mainly take up regulatory reform requests from the EU to Japan. * This meeting will be held in the framework of the Japan-EU Regulatory Reform Dialogue held every year since 1994. Three meetings were held in FY 2000 to discuss regulatory frameworks both in Japan and the EU.
