Visit to Japan of The Hon. John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia, and Mrs. Janette Howard (Announcement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

June 15, 1999

   The Hon. John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia, and Mrs. Janette Howard, accompanied by a suite, will pay an Official Visit to Japan from July 5 to 9, 1999.
   During their stay in Japan, the Prime Minister and Mrs. Howard will be received in audience by Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
   Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister and Mrs. Howard.
The Prime Minister will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi.
   The Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Obuchi will host a Dinner in honor of the Prime Minister and Mrs. Howard.
   The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the Prime Minister and Mrs. Howard, which will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and Australia.
