Visit to Japan by Mr. Goh Chok Tong,Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore

1. Mr. Goh Chok Tong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, will visit Japan from August 27 (Wed.) to 30 (Sat.).

2. During his stay in Japan, Prime Minister Goh will have talks with Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto (on August 29), and exchange wide-ranging views on bilateral relations, relations between Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the international situation, and other matters.

3. Through Mr. Goh Chok Tong's forthcoming visit to Japan, Japan and Singapore expect further promotion of mutual understanding and cooperative relations.
