Visit to Japan of Mr. Thabo Mbeki, Executive Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, and Mrs. Mbeki

- Mr. Thabo Mbeki, Executive Deputy President of the
Republic of South Africa, together with Mrs. Mbeki and a
suite, will visit Japan from April 7 (Tue.) to 10 (Fri.)
as Guest of the Foreign Ministry.
- During their stay in Japan, Mr. and Mrs. Mbeki will be
received in audience by Their Majesties The Emperor and
Empress of Japan. Mr. Mbeki will also have talks with
dignitaries including top officials of the Japanese
Government, to exchange views widely on the international
situation and bilateral issues.
- Mr. Mbeki visited Japan in 1991 when he was Head of
Department of International Affairs of the African
National Congress (ANC), but is his first visit to Japan
since the birth of the new Republic of South Africa in
1994.
