Visit to Japan by Mr. Gohar Ayub Khan,Foreign Minister of Pakistan

February 27, 1998

1. Mr. Gohar Ayub Khan, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, together with Mrs. Gohar Ayub Khan, will visit Japan from March 8 (Sun.) to 11 (Wed.) as Guest of the Foreign Minister.

2. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Gohar Ayub Khan will have talks with Mr. Keizo Obuchi, Foreign Minister, and other government officials, and will consult people in Japan's economic circles.

3. The present visit, in response to an invitation extended in July 1997 when Mr. Yukihiko Ikeda, then the Japanese Foreign Minister, visited Pakistan. This demonstrates that high-level exchange of visits between Japan and Pakistan is becoming more frequent.
