Visit to Japan by Mr. Carlos Roberto Reina, President of Honduras

- Mr. Carlos Roberto Reina, President of the Republic of Honduras, together with Mrs. Bessie Watson de Reina, will visit Japan from March 16 (Sun.) to 19 (Wed.).
- During the stay in Japan, Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will meet with President and Mrs. Reina.
The President will have talks with leading Japanese Government officials, including Mr. Masahiko Komura, State Secretary for foreign Affairs, who will give a dinner for the President, and will have wide-ranging talks with leaders in economic circles. - Japan and Honduras enjoy traditionally friendly relations. Honduras is a particularly friendly Latin American country. In 1995, the country issued stamps in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the conclusion of an agreement regarding the dispatch of Japan overseas cooperation volunteers. As of January 31, 1997, the number of volunteers that have gone to Honduras was 99 (653 cumulative total), both the largest numbers among Latin American countries.
