His Excellency Mr. Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, President of the Republic of Chile, and Mrs. Frei, accompanied by a suite, will pay an official working visit to Japan from August 30 to September 3, 1997.
During their stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Frei will make a state call on Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.
Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the President and Mrs. Frei.
The President will have official talks with the Prime Minister of Japan.
The Prime Minister of Japan and Mrs. Hashimoto will host a Dinner in honor of the President and Mrs. Frei.
The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mrs. Frei, which will be made on the occasion of the Centenary of Friendship and will further strengthen the friendly relations existing between Japan and the Republic of Chile.
