- On Friday, February 24, the Government of Japan decided to provide US$3 million in Emergency Grant Aid for refugees and internally displaced persons, etc., by the political instability and the worsening of the human rights situation in Syria since March 2011.
- Cooperating with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Japan is planning for the swift distribute food and sanitary items.
