- In the early hours of Monday, July 18 (JST), Japan won the final against the United States for the FIFA Women's World Cup Championship held in Germany. Following this, on July 20 (JST), the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State, sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Takeaki Matsumoto, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, together with apples produced in the State of New York, Secretary Clinton's former constituency as a Senator.
