Concerning State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Takahashi's Attendance at the WTO Third Global Review of Aid for Trade (AfT) Ministerial Level Meeting and the Global Services Summit

1. State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Chiaki Takahashi is scheduled to attend the WTO Third Global Review of Aid for Trade (AfT) Ministerial Level Meeting to be held on Monday, July 18 and Tuesday, July 19 in Geneva, Switzerland and the Global Services Summit to be held on Wednesday, July 20 in Washington DC, USA.

2. At the Third Global Review of AfT Ministerial Level Meeting, discussions are scheduled to take place at a ministerial level on the future of assistance to the developing nations in the trade arena, and Japan is planning to explain about its approach to this field up to now.

3. At the Global Services Summit, which is being held on the theme of dynamic Asian economies, discussions are scheduled to take place concerning the latest agenda related to the service industry and trade in the Asian region. At this summit, Japan is planning to explain about its approach to trade issues such as the APEC forum, which it chaired last year, and the EPA and FTA negotiations that it is pursuing together with various countries.
