Exchange of Diplomatic Notes concerning the Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and the Republic of India

- The exchange of diplomatic notes concerning the entry into force of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and the Republic of India took place in Tokyo on Thursday, June 30. With this exchange of notes, the Agreement will enter into force on Monday, August 1.
- This Agreement promotes liberalisation of trade in goods and services and facilitation of investment between Japan and India, enhances bilateral economic partnership, as well as strengthens cooperation in various areas including movement of natural persons and intellectual property.
- It is expected that the entry into force of the Agreement will greatly invigorate both economies and further strengthen the Strategic and Global Partnership between the two countries.
