Officers Meeting on the Economic Diplomacy for Reconstruction (Asia Pacific Region)

1. On Thursday, June 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the Officers Meeting on the Economic Diplomacy for Reconstruction (Asia Pacific Region). Officers of overseas diplomatic establishments etc. of major countries and regions in the Asia Pacific region in terms related to exports from Japan and number of foreign visitors to Japan, and domestic ministries, agencies and institutions will participate in this meeting. The Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Ikuo Yamahana will give instructions at the opening of the meeting.
   
   
2. To promote economic diplomacy which contributes to “Open Reconstruction,” the meeting will discuss issues to work strategically on overseas communications, in cooperation with related ministries, agencies and institutions, such as providing information related to import regulations and voyage restrictions, as well as initiatives for recovery and reconstruction, to overseas public and private sectors. The meeting aims to link these discussions to future initiatives.
