Donation from the Government of Bangladesh

  1. The Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh offered a donation of two million US dollars (approximately 163 million Yen) regarding the Great East Japan Earthquake.  Prime Minister H.E. Sheikh Hasina handed over the check to the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Tamotsu Shinotsuka, on Saturday, May 14 in Dhaka.

  2. From Bangladesh, Prime Minister H.E. Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister H.E.Dipu Moni sent letters of sympathy and condolences.  The Government of Bangladesh has provided relief supplies, i.e. 2,000 Blankets, 500 pairs of rubber boots and 1,000 pairs of rubber gloves.  Furthermore, Bangladeshi nationals who are living in Japan have participated in various voluntary activities such as providing hot meals to the affected people. 

  3. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the cooperation by the Government of Bangladesh.
