Condolences and Donations from Cambodia

- With regard to the Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake, Japan has received contributions and condolences from multiple individuals and organizations of Cambodia, including H.M. Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia. To help disaster victims, the Cambodian government and the Cambodian Red Cross Society have offered to provide contributions of 100,000 USD and 20,000 USD respectively. Furthermore, the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia has received contributions from various citizens of Cambodia as well.
- Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held one minute of silence for the people affected by the disaster at the cabinet meeting on March 18 (Friday). After the meeting, Samdech Techo paid a visit to the Japanese ambassador’s residence with more than 30 cabinet members who attended the meeting and signed the book of condolences to pray for the disaster victims. Many other Cambodian citizens also visited the Embassy of Japan, with approximately 2,000 people signing the book of condolences.
- The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the Government and the people of Cambodia for their expression of solidarity and generous assistance for Japan.
