  1. On Wednesday, March 16, in response to the Tohoku district-off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake, the Government of Ireland announced that the Government will provide relief money of 1 million euro (about 115 million yen) to Japanese Red Cross.

  2. The Government of Japan has received letters of sympathy from H.E. Mrs. Mary McAleese, President of Ireland, H.E. Mr. Enda Kenny, Taoiseach (the Prime Minister of Ireland), and H.E. Mr. Eamon Gilmore, Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.

  3. Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland) Mr. Enda Kenny (on Tuesday, March 22) wrote a message in a condolence book at the Embassy of Japan in Ireland. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates a sense of solidarity expressed and assistance extended by the Government of Ireland and the people of Ireland.
