  1. From Wednesday, December 14 to Saturday, December 17, Mr. Joe Nakano, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will be visiting Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the eighth World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference.

  2. During his stay in Geneva, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nakano will attend the WTO Ministerial Conference and various other meetings to be held from Thursday, December 15 to Saturday, December 17. He will also exchange views on a range of issues including foreign affairs and international trade with participants and other people from various countries.

  3. The Ministerial Conference, held once every two years, is the highest decision making body of the WTO. This time it will involve the participation of ministers of 153 member countries and regions, and discussions and decisions are expected to take place on the future work for the Doha Development Agenda negotiations currently at an impasse, Russia's accession to the WTO, and other matters.
