Dispatch of Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team in Response to the Flood Disaster in the Kingdom of Thailand

- On Wednesday, November 2, the Government of Japan decided to dispatch Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team (drain pump vehicle team) to the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, which has suffered the flood damage, in order to support the country’s drainage efforts. Ten drain pump vehicles for this assistance activities (belonging to the Chubu Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism [MLIT]) will leave Yokohama Port on Saturday, November 5 and arrive at Laem Chabang Port, Thailand, on Thursday, November 17.
- This team (headed by Mr. Koichi Funayama, Senior Coordinator, Foreign Nationals’ Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; other members from MLIT, the Japan International Cooperation Agency [JICA], and other institutions) will arrive in Thailand upon the arrival of the vehicles, and assist the Thai Government’s drainage efforts.
