  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has set up the official website of APEC Japan 2010 (http://www.apec2010.go.jp/) to let the general public at large know about APEC’s role and its significance to Japan as chair of a series of APEC meetings in 2010. Today, on August 6 (Fri), an easy-to-understand commentary about APEC and a video titled “Teach me about APEC!” and intended for young people have been added.

  2. Through the website, it is hoped that young people who will lead the next generation will deepen their understanding of Japan’s position in the increasingly interdependent international community, the importance of regional economic cooperation, the role being played by APEC and other related matters. The videos have been posted ahead of other content so that children may have opportunities on the occasion of their summer vacation to learn about Japan’s linkage with other parts of the Asia-Pacific region, the need for regional cooperation and relations concerning APEC economies existing close to them.

  3. The website is scheduled to post various other pieces of information, including content introducing APEC in a way easy to understand for businesspeople and other members of society and video letters from prominent figures from various circles who support APEC.

  4. Note : The website consists of materials in Japanese.
