  1. Dr. Jacques Diouf, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, will visit Japan from April 21 (Wed) to 24 (Sat).

  2. During his visit, Dr. Diouf will pay courtesy calls on Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister, Mr. Hirotaka Akamatsu, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Mr. Shuji Kira, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and exchange views regarding such topics as the current state of world food issues.
