- On March 18 (Thu), the proposal by Monaco to list Atlantic bluefin tuna in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Appendix I and the amendment by EU were rejected by Committee I at the Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CITES held in Doha, Qatar. The Government of Japan welcomes this decision.
- Japan will continue making effort to deepen understanding of its position so that the recommendation of Committee I to reject the proposal by Monaco and the EU amendment will be adopted at the Plenary Session to be held on March 24 and 25.
