  1. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), paid a courtesy call on Mr. Koichi Takemasa, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, for approximately twenty minutes from 6:15 p.m. on March 10 (Wed).

  2. State Secretary Takemasa and Secretary-General Supachai exchanged views regarding the worldwide issues of food and the promotion of responsible agricultural investment, the role of UNCTAD in such fields, and UNCTAD’s activities in Aid for Trade (AfT) and the investment field.

(Reference)  Secretary-General Supachai visited Japan to attend and give a speech at the FAO Symposium on Promotion of Poverty Reduction / Agricultural Investment held in Tokyo on March 10.
