Emergency Assistance to the torrential rain disaster in the Republic of Costa Rica

- On November 11 (Thu), the Government of Japan decided to provide emergency relief goods (power generators, blankets, etc.) equivalent to 8 million JPY to the Republic of Costa Rica in response to the torrential rain disaster.
- The recent torrential rain in Costa Rica has left 26 people dead and 4,897 people forced to evacuate. Bridges, roads, houses and other infrastructures were damaged, causing blackouts and water failure in various places.
- Upon the request by the Government of Costa Rica, the Government of Japan decided to extend emergency assistance from a humanitarian point of view for people affected by the disaster and in light of the friendly relations between Japan and Costa Rica.
