Message from Foreign Minister Nakasone, to H.E. Mr. Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Concerning the Terrorist attack in the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian Federation

On August 18, H.E. Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, conveyed an oral message to H.E. Mr. Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, concerning the terrorist attack that occurred in the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian Federation. The summary of the message is as follows.

  1. I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the victims and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack which occurred on August 17, and also pray for the early recovery of injured persons. Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan strongly condemns these acts.
     
  2. I hope that no terrorist acts occur in your country in the future. At the same time, Japan would like to work along with the international community, including your country, in order to make an international community without terrorism.
