  1. Japan extends congratulations to H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia, for being virtually confirmed to be re-elected via a democratic election process in the Presidential election held on July 8.
     
  2. Japan expects to continue cooperating with Indonesia for a variety of international issues as strategic partners that share basic values such as democracy and a market economy.
     
  3. H.E. Mr. Taro Aso, Prime Minister of Japan, has already relayed his congratulations to President Yudhoyono after receiving the announcement of the results of the Presidential election.
