Statement by the Press Secretary/ Director-general for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Series of Bombings in New Delhi, India

- The Government of Japan is deeply shocked by the series of bombings
in Connaught Place in the central part of New Delhi, India, on September
13 (Sat) (local time), which resulted in a large number of casualties. We
express sympathy for the victims and send condolences to the bereaved families.
We also express sympathy for those injured and pray for their early
recovery.
- We firmly condemn these bombings as inexcusable acts, targeted at innocent
people. We strongly blame terrorism in any forms and manifestations
and reiterate our stance that there can be no justification, whatsoever,
for any acts of terrorism.
- We hope that the people of India will overcome this tragedy early. We are resolved to continue our cooperation with the Government of India to fight against terrorism.
