Statement by the Press Secretary/ Director-general for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Suicide Bombing Aimed at a Weapons Factory in Pakistan

  1. The Government of Japan is deeply shocked by a series of suicide bombing attacks at a weapons factory near Islamabad, Pakistan on August 21 which resulted in a large number of casualties. We express sympathy for the victims and send condolences to the bereaved families. We also express sympathy for those injured and pray for their early recovery.
     
  2. The Government of Japan firmly condemns these bombing attacks and continues to cooperate with the Government of Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
