Statement by the Press Secretary/ Director-general for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Suicide Bombing Aimed at a Weapons Factory in Pakistan

- The Government of Japan is deeply shocked by a series of suicide bombing
attacks at a weapons factory near Islamabad, Pakistan on August 21 which
resulted in a large number of casualties. We express sympathy for the victims
and send condolences to the bereaved families. We also express sympathy
for those injured and pray for their early recovery.
- The Government of Japan firmly condemns these bombing attacks and continues to cooperate with the Government of Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
