Venue for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree Decided

- On July 17, Japan was elected as a host country of the 23rd World Scout
Jamboree in 2015 at the World Scout Conference held at Jeju, the ROK. The
result of the election was 535 votes for Japan and 364 for Singapore.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes this decision as it has been making proactive efforts to have the event held in Japan under the leadership of Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with the Scout Association of Japan, ministries concerned including the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, members of parliament, and people from economic circles, to achieve the holding of the World Scout Jamboree in Japan.
