Additional Assistance in Response to the Earthquake Disaster in Sichuan Province, China (Delivery of Tents and Drinking Water Provided by Local Governments)

On May 30 (Fri), in response to the request of the Government of the People's Republic of China for relief supply goods including tents, the Government of Japan announced that it would provide additional assistance of up to a total of 500 million yen. So far Japan has provided tents, water purifiers and others, and this time Japan has transported tents newly provided by local governments in Japan and drinking water provided by water-supply corporations under the local governments in Japan by charter flights from Kansai International Airport to Chengdu International Airport in the middle of the night of June 21 (Sat).
