Prime Minister Abe Expresses Sympathy for Flood Disaster in South-central China to President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao of the People's Republic of China

On August 2, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, sent the following message of sympathy for the flood disaster caused by torrential rains in South-central China to President Hu Jintao and to Premier Wen Jiabao of the People's Republic of China. The translation is as follows:
I would like to express my deepest sympathy, on behalf of the Government of Japan, for the catastrophic floods in your country caused by torrential rains, which afflicted many people, especially in the south-central region, where there were many injuries and deaths.
I sincerely hope that the victims can resume their normal lives and the affected areas recover as soon as possible.
