Inscription of Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine and its Cultural Landscape on the World Heritage List (Decision at the 31st Session of the World Heritage Committee)

At its 31st Session which is being held from June 23 (Sat) till July 2 (Mon) in Christchurch, New Zealand, the World Heritage Committee examined the Iwami Silver Mine and its Cultural Landscape, which Japan nominated as a new item of the World Heritage List, and adopted the decision “Inscription” at 15:25 on June 28 (Thu) (Japan time: 12:25 on June 28 (Thu)) .
With this inscription, a total of 14 properties in Japan will be inscribed on the World Heritage List –11 cultural heritage and 3 natural heritage sites.
*Inscription: A nominated property will be inscribed on the World Heritage List.
