1. It has been decided to start negotiations to conclude an Agreement with Kazakhstan for cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
2. In this connection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to extend cooperation of about 500 million yen to upgrade nuclear security for nuclear-related facilities in Kazakhstan under the Japan-Kazakhstan nuclear non-proliferation cooperation agreement.
