Training for Iraqi Diplomats

  1. The Government of Japan will provide training for 10 young Iraqi diplomats from March 11 (Sun) to 20 (Tue), in response to a request from the Foreign Ministry of Iraq.
  2. This training will be the third of its kind and is aimed not only at building the capacities of young Iraqi diplomats through lectures on Japan's diplomatic policies and international relations in general but also at promoting friendly relations between Japan and Iraq in the future by letting them acquainted with Japan and providing them with wide-ranging knowledge of Japanese politics, including diplomatic policies, economy, society, history and culture.
  3. The lectures will cover various fields such as foreign policies by region and field, Official Development Assistance and security, and will be given at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also included in the program are visits to legislative and judicial branches such as the Diet, a court and educational institutions as well as a tour outside Tokyo.
  4. This training will be implemented as part of the training programs of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
