
Statement by Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, on the Bombing Attacks in Alger, the capital of Algeria
December 12, 2007
- The Government of Japan is greatly shocked and angered by the suicide
bombing attacks in Alger on December 11, which caused many deaths and injuries
including UN staff members. The Government of Japan expresses its deepest
condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their bereaved families,
and to the many people who were injured by these attacks.
- Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and the Government of Japan condemns in the strongest terms such heinous act of terrorism which victimizes many innocent people.
