Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Adoption of a Resolution concerning Iran's Nuclear Issue at the Special Meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors

  1. Japan welcomes the adoption without a vote of resolution concerning Iran's nuclear issue on August 11 at the Special Meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors held in Vienna sending a clear and unified message of the international community. Japan also deems it extremely important for Iran to take this resolution seriously and respond to it sincerely.
  2. Japan continues to strongly urge Iran to implement sincerely all the requirements of the relevant IAEA resolutions including the suspension of all uranium enrichment-related and reprocessing activities without exception, including uranium conversion activities.
