Assistance for Revitalization of Agricultural Productive Capacities in Sudan by the Trust Fund for Human Security

  1. On July 30 (Wednesday), the Government of Japan and the United Nations (UN) decided to extend a total of 1,258,256.24- dollar assistance through the Trust Fund for Human Security to the project "Revitalization of Agricultural Productive Capacities in Post-Conflict Zones by Promoting Participation and Community Building for Food Security and Poverty Alleviation" to be implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

  2. The goal of this project is to improve agricultural productivity, and to strengthen social and economic ties within communities in the Nuba Mountains Region. Activities include provision of simple hand tools, agricultural implements, basic food processing equipment and improvement of local blacksmith's productivity.

  3. This project is expected to strengthen communities both socially and economically, and to support the return of internally displaced persons in the Nuba Mountains region.
