September 17, 2001
Japanese

  1. I heartily welcome the conclusion of negotiations for China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on September 17 in Geneva.

  2. The Government of Japan has consistently supported the early accession of China to the WTO. As China accedes to the WTO following the necessary procedures, Japan expects that the accession will promote economic reforms in China, thereby contributing to further prosperity and stability of the world.
