On July 31, commencing at 1:45 p.m. (local time; 8:45 p.m. on July 31 JST) for approximately 60 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting South Africa, had a meeting with South African business people.

During the meeting, Minister Hayashi had a candid exchange of views on the current business situation in South Africa. Touching on the current international situation, including the situation in Ukraine, Minister Hayashi stated that the Japanese government, as a "partner growing together," would continue to cooperate with South Africa in further developing trade and investment relations between the two countries, steadily building connections between Japanese companies and African businesses, where investment is progressing in various fields.
