Meeting between State Minister Sato and Minister of Works and Transport of the Republic of Uganda2
  1. On November 20, 2017, Mr. Masahisa Sato, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Ms. Monica Azuba Ntege, Minister of Works and Transport of the Republic of Uganda, who is visiting Japan to participate in the Public-Private Conference for High-Quality Infrastructure.
  2. At the beginning, Mr. Sato welcomed Ms. Azuba's first visit to Japan and expressed his hope for the success of the conference. He also stated that Japan is ready to contribute, using Japan's high-quality technologies, to infrastructure development in Uganda. In response, Ms. Azuba expressed her gratitude for Japan's support in various areas.
  3. On North Korea, Mr. Sato stressed the importance of the international community being united in putting pressure on North Korea. In response, Ms. Azuba reconfirmed Uganda's support for the UN Security Council sanctions against North Korea.
  4. The two Ministers also had fruitful discussions on the situation in South Sudan.
