Japan-Kenya Relations

  1. H. E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, and his spouse, Mrs. Ruto will pay an Official Visit to Japan from 6 February to 9 February.
  2. During their stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Ruto will make a State Call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the President and Mrs. Ruto. Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a summit meeting with the President. Prime Minister and Mrs. Kishida will host a dinner for the President and his spouse.
  3. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Mrs. Ruto and hopes that this visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and Republic of Kenya. During their stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Ruto will visit Tokyo and Aichi. Through the visit to Aichi, further development between both countries’ regional exchange is expected.

This will be H.E. Dr. Ruto’s first visit to Japan as the President of the Republic of Kenya.
H.E. Dr. Ruto visited Japan as the Vice President on the occasion of the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V) in 2013.
