Japan-Angola Relations

 His Excellency Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves LOURENÇO, President of the Republic of Angola, and First Lady Mrs. LOURENÇO will conduct an Official Working Visit to Japan from Sunday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

  1. During their stay in Japan, Their Majesties the Emperor and the Empress of Japan will give audience to the President and the First Lady. Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a meeting with President LOURENÇO and host a working dinner.
  2. President LOURENÇO will also visit Nagoya and Kyoto.
  3. Angola is a country with high economic potential, with one of the highest oil production and rich mineral resources in Africa, and a partner with a stable political foundation under President LOURENÇO, who was re-elected after democratic elections. The Government of Japan wishes that the visit by President João Manuel Gonçalves LOURENÇO and First Lady Mrs. LOURENÇO will further deepen the bilateral cooperation.

President LOURENÇO was elected as the 3rd President of the Republic of the Angola on September 26, 2017 and re-elected on March 24, 2022. This will be President LOURENÇO’s second visit to Japan as a President.
